Amman, Feb 11 (Petra) – The Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) and the Saudi Export Development Authority (SAUDI EXPORTS) organized a virtual workshop via video conferencing titled "Enhancing Trade Relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan." According to a JEDCO statement on Wednesday, the workshop aimed to introduce Saudi companies to available investment and trade opportunities in Jordan, review the regulatory and legislative frameworks governing entry into the Jordanian market, and discuss mechanisms for building sustainable business partnerships that contribute to increasing trade exchange between the two brotherly countries.

The workshop included presentations by representatives of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO), the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), and the Customs Department. The presentations highlighted technical and procedural requirements, registration and licensing procedures, and conformity and customs requirements, helping raise the readiness of Saudi companies and facilitate the entry of their products into the Jordanian market.

JEDCO Acting CEO Dana Al-Zoubi said organizing the workshop comes as part of the corporation’s keenness to enhance Arab economic cooperation and support business partnerships between the private sectors in both countries. She noted that the Jordanian market enjoys a conducive investment environment and promising opportunities for Saudi companies.

Al-Zoubi affirmed the corporation’s readiness to provide technical and advisory support to companies seeking to expand.

Another virtual workshop is expected to be organized in the coming period targeting Jordanian companies, with the aim of introducing them to opportunities for entering the Saudi market and export requirements, enhancing trade integration and contributing to the expansion of economic cooperation between the two sides.
