Amman, March 17 (Petra) -- Minister of Transport Nidal Katamine stressed the importance of entrenching joint work among airport operators in a way that enhances operational efficiency, strengthens the competitiveness of the civil aviation sector, and supports Jordan’s position as a regional hub for air transport and logistics services.

His remarks came during a meeting held on Tuesday with Airport International Group (AIG) Chairman Nicolas Devilliers; Vice Chairman of the Board of Jordan Airports Company and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Jordanian Samer Majali; and Chief Executive Officer of Jordan Airports Company Ahmad Azzam, in the presence of Ministry of Transport Secretary-General Fares Abu Dayyeh, during which ways to enhance cooperation and integration among airport operators in the Kingdom were discussed.

The minister said the ministry continues to support initiatives aimed at developing the civil aviation sector and strengthening partnerships with the private sector in line with best international practices in a way that achieves sustainability and operational efficiency.

The meeting discussed mechanisms to develop cooperation in airport management and operations, exchange technical and operational expertise, and explore opportunities for integration among Jordanian airports in a way that ensures optimal use of available infrastructure and enhances the quality of services provided to passengers and airlines.

Participants also stressed the importance of working within a unified national vision for the airport sector, based on integrating operational roles, enhancing capacity, and attracting more air traffic and investments, in a way that positively reflects on economic growth and the tourism sector.

The meeting is part of the government efforts to develop the air transport sector and enhance integration among relevant entities in a way that achieves advanced levels of service and operational efficiency and consolidates Jordan’s position as a regional hub in the civil aviation sector.
