Jordan Showcases Investment Prospects at China Expo

Amman, June 23 (Petra) -- Investment Minister Tareq Abughazaleh participated in the opening of the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in Beijing, highlighting Jordan's investment opportunities and seeking to expand economic partnerships with Chinese and international investors.

According to a Ministry of Investment statement issued Tuesday, the expo, organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), is one of the world's leading platforms focused on supply chains, trade and investment, bringing together senior officials, business leaders and global economic institutions.

The minister's participation comes as part of government efforts to strengthen Jordan's presence on the global investment map and broaden its international economic partnerships.

On the sidelines of the expo, Abughazaleh launched an investment promotion tour in China that includes meetings with economic institutions, companies and investors to showcase investment opportunities in the Kingdom and highlight Jordan's competitive advantages as a regional business and investment hub and a gateway to regional and international markets.

He also held a roundtable meeting with representatives of Chinese companies and economic institutions, organized by the China Overseas Development Association (CODA) in cooperation with the Jordanian Embassy in Beijing. The meeting was attended by Jordan's Ambassador to China Hussam Husseini and representatives of Chinese firms interested in overseas expansion and investment.

During the meetings, Abughazaleh outlined investment opportunities across key sectors and reviewed recent developments in Jordan's investment environment, including incentives and competitive advantages offered to investors. He highlighted strategic projects in transport, logistics, energy, water, industry, agriculture and technology, including road, aviation and railway projects. Discussions also covered cooperation opportunities in renewable energy, supply chains, smart logistics and advanced industries.

The minister further participated in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Industrial Chain and Supply Chain Conference, where he presented strategic projects being implemented through public-private partnerships and reaffirmed Jordan's commitment to attracting high-value investments that support technology transfer, job creation and sustainable economic growth.

Abughazaleh described China as a strategic economic and investment partner, stressing the importance of international economic and investment events in strengthening cooperation and attracting quality investments. He said Jordan has introduced a comprehensive package of legislative and administrative reforms in recent years that have improved investment services, enhanced the business environment and strengthened the Kingdom's competitiveness as a regional and international investment destination.

He added that Jordan offers investors multiple competitive advantages, including a strategic location linking regional markets, advanced infrastructure, political and economic stability, and an extensive network of free trade agreements providing access to major global markets.

The investment promotion tour will continue in the coming days with meetings involving major Chinese companies and economic institutions operating in transport, logistics, energy, industry, agriculture and technology as part of efforts to attract additional investments to the Kingdom.
