Amman, March 17 (Petra) -- The second executive programme for the mining sector under the Economic Modernisation Vision aims to stimulate comprehensive and sustainable economic growth by increasing the volume of production of phosphate, potash and bromine ores, and expanding the number of approved mining exploitation licences.

According to the second executive programme of the Economic Modernisation Vision (2026–2029), work will focus on boosting exports by increasing the concentration of mining exports and raising foreign direct investment through increasing the number of sites prepared to be offered as open investment opportunities.

The methodology for achieving the strategic objectives of the mining sector is based on a number of initiatives and projects to be implemented during 2026 and 2027.

Under the initiative to establish a national geological information bank and activate exploration promotion, a project for an interactive map of mineral resources will be implemented in 2026.

Within the initiative to build specialised human competencies and capabilities in the mining sector, a center of excellence will be established to develop skills and build mining capacities during 2026–2027.

As part of the initiative to restructure the legislative and regulatory framework for the sector, an amended law to the Natural Resources Law No. (19) of 2018 and its related regulations will be prepared in 2026.
