Jordan, Türkiye FMs talk ties, regional developments

Amman, July 28 (Petra) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan discussed regional developments during a phone call on Tuesday.
During the conversation, the ministers called for maintaining the ceasefire between the US and Iran, resuming negotiations, and reaching a comprehensive resolution that addresses the crux of the issue while ensuring navigation freedom in the Strait of Hormuz under international law.
The two ministers also warned against dangerous Israeli escalations and illegal measures in the occupied West Bank, adding that such actions entrench the occupation and undermine prospects for a just peace.
The duo also condemned Israeli violations at Al-Aqsa Mosque and rejected any attempts to alter the historical and legal status quo of Jerusalem and its holy sites.
Additionally, both top diplomats emphasized the necessity of implementing all provisions of US President Donald Trump's plan to restore stability in Gaza.
Concluding the phone discussion, the two sides went over ways to boost bilateral relations and address several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
