Amman, April 4 (Petra) -- Chairman of the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) Ayman Al Alawneh met with the United Arab Emirates’ chargé d’affaires in Amman, Hamad Al Matrooshi, at the embassy to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral economic and investment relations and to invite the embassy to attend the "Economic Forum for Diplomatic Missions in Jordan." Aloulou said in a statement on Saturday that Jordanian-Emirati ties are deeply rooted and marked by strong cooperation across investment, trade and economic sectors. He stressed the importance of supporting Emirati investments in Jordan to help develop joint projects and create new job opportunities.
He also underscored the need to follow up on the work of joint technical committees and to enhance communication channels between business communities and the private sector in both countries.
For his part, Al Matrooshi reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Jordan, praising the depth of relations between the leaderships of the two countries. He also referred to His Majesty King Abdullah II’s visit, noting that he was the first head of state to visit the UAE amid current regional conditions, reflecting the high level of coordination between the two nations.
He added that the UAE government places significant importance on investing in Jordan, as reflected in a comprehensive strategic agreement and major projects aimed at supporting the national economy.
According to Central Bank of Jordan data, Emirati investments constitute a key share of total foreign direct investment in the kingdom. Jordan and the UAE are also linked through memorandums of understanding and investment agreements across infrastructure, logistics, transport, tourism, renewable energy, manufacturing and services, as part of broader investment initiatives.
