Amman, August 2 (Petra) – Samra Power Generation Company (SEPCO) and SITE Technology General Contracting on Sunday signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for a 25-megawatt wind power project in Ma'an Governorate, funded by the United Arab Emirates.
The contract was signed under the cooperation agreement concluded in February between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar). The project includes the supply and installation of five wind turbines with a combined generating capacity of 25 megawatts at Batn Al Ghul in Ma'an Governorate.
The UAE government, represented by Masdar, will fully finance the project, while SEPCO will operate and maintain the facility after construction is completed and officially handed over.
The project is intended to strengthen Jordan-UAE cooperation and support the Kingdom's expansion of renewable energy projects, contributing to energy security and the transition toward clean and sustainable energy sources. It also supports national efforts to meet growing electricity demand through strategic projects aligned with sustainable development objectives.
The project marks another milestone in the Jordanian-Emirati partnership and reflects the two countries' commitment to advancing strategic initiatives that promote sustainable development.
