Amman, April 12 (Petra) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi hailed a "historic" meeting between Jordanian and Syrian officials in Amman on Sunday, emphasizing that Jordan remains a steadfast supporter of its northern neighbor.

In a statement posted on his X account, Safadi described the high-level talks as a manifestation of the deep brotherly ties and a shared will to build "comprehensive and strategic collaborative relations." The meetings took place within the framework of the second session of the Higher Coordination Council.

Safadi and several Jordanian cabinet members welcomed a Syrian delegation led by Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani.

"We are proud of the continuous development our relations are witnessing," Safadi stated. "Jordan will always be the support for our brothers in Syria, and we stand with them absolutely in their journey toward reconstruction. Syria's success is a success for Jordan and the entire region." The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, reflecting a clear vision for integrated economic and strategic partnerships. This diplomatic push is a significant step toward normalizing and strengthening ties between the two nations, aimed at fostering regional stability and mutual growth.
