Amman, Nov. 1 (Petra) - Jordan and Yemen signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Sunday to improve environmental cooperation and technical expertise sharing through 2028.
The memo establishes a framework to protect natural resources, advance green growth, and support sustainable development goals.
Minister of Environment Ayman Soleiman and Yemeni Ambassador to Jordan Jalal Faqira signed the agreement.
Under the MoU, the two nations will collaborate on technical knowledge transfer, clean technology adoption, hazardous waste management, and air, water, and soil protection.
The agreement also targets eco-tourism, marine preservation, nature reserve management, desertification mitigation, joint biodiversity research, and climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies.
To ensure effective implementation, a joint technical committee will be established to oversee programs, assess environmental impact integration into national development plans, and explore new areas of strategic partnership.
