Amman, March 1 (Petra) – Chief Commissioner and CEO of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Captain Daifallah Al-Farajat, confirmed that Jordanian airspace is operating normally for air traffic, stressing the continued operational efficiency of civil aviation facilities in the Kingdom.

Al-Farajat explained that the figures recorded yesterday reflected the flexibility in dealing with the current regional conditions, as more than 140 aircraft crossed Jordan’s airspace, representing 56 percent of normal traffic. He noted that this variation is mainly due to the closure of several neighboring countries’ airspaces amid the ongoing regional situation.

He added that Queen Alia International Airport handled about 120 arriving and departing flights, accounting for 60 percent of normal traffic, after several foreign airlines temporarily suspended or cancelled their operations to the region.

In a related context, Al-Farajat stressed the authority’s keenness to protect passengers’ rights and ensure they receive the necessary care. The authority urged passengers affected by flight cancellations to submit requests for alternative direct flights from the concerned airlines, affirming that this is a "fundamental right guaranteed by the governing regulations" published on the authority’s official website.

Passengers whose airlines fail to respond to their requests or provide suitable alternatives were advised to file an official complaint through the following channels: Website: www.carc.gov.jo Hotline for complaints: +962799522502 Al-Farajat affirmed that the authority is closely monitoring air traffic activity and regional developments in coordination with all relevant agencies to ensure the safety and security of civil aviation in the Kingdom.
