Amman, August 3 (Petra) - The Jordanian Charity Medicine Bank hosted an interactive panel discussion titled "Digital Awareness Protects Against Misleading Ads" on Monday as part of the "Tawk Naja" (Lifeline) initiative.

Mahmoud Maghaira, head of the Public Security Directorate's (PSD) Cybercrime Unit, pointed to digital literacy as the primary defense against online fraud. He cautioned that scammers increasingly use fake ads, fraudulent links, and deceptive offers to harvest personal data and steal money.

Maghaira urged the public to verify ad sources before engaging, avoid sharing personal or financial details on unverified sites, and report suspicious content to official authorities.

He added that the Cybercrime Unit continues to prosecute online scammers while running public awareness campaigns.

Ashraf Al-Kilani, Chairman of the Jordanian Charity Medicine Bank, stated that the session aligns with the "Tawk Naja" initiative's goal of fostering community protection and supporting national cybersecurity awareness alongside the organization's core humanitarian mission.
