Jordanian Engineer Advances UK Patent for Smart Energy Monitoring Technology

Amman, April 1 (Petra) -- A Jordanian engineer has moved closer to securing a UK patent for a smart energy innovation, marking a step forward in efforts to improve energy efficiency and monitoring systems.

Abdulrahman Abu Tair said his application to the UK Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has been formally accepted following a comprehensive technical and legal review, allowing the invention to enter the official registration phase after passing initial procedural stages.

The patent, titled "Device and Systems for Monitoring Energy Source Usage," focuses on enhancing how energy consumption is tracked and managed, with the aim of reducing waste and improving operational efficiency across energy systems.

Abu Tair said the development comes after three years of research, development, and field testing in the United Kingdom, where he has been working on refining the technology and validating its performance.

The application was submitted under Smart Millennium Ltd, the company he founded in Cardiff, Wales, in collaboration with a technical team that included engineers Stephen Gardner and Lyndon Arthur Harfoot.

The engineer is active in the smart energy and technology sector, with business interests spanning the United Kingdom and the Middle East, particularly in energy and telecommunications.

His work has also involved facilitating partnerships between British companies and Middle Eastern investors, with a focus on knowledge transfer and expanding cross-border economic cooperation.

Beyond the technical scope, Abu Tair is engaged in the Arab business community in the UK, where he serves on the board of the Jordanian Businessmen Association.

The project aligns with broader global efforts to adopt smarter and more sustainable energy solutions, particularly those aimed at optimizing consumption, supporting grid stability, and accelerating the transition toward environmentally friendly energy systems.
