Amman, Jan. 29 (Petra) – Jordanian food industries have reinforced their footprint at the 31st Gulfood 2026 exhibition, held at the Dubai World Trade Center, with one of the largest national representations in the event’s history.
In a statement issued Thursday, the Jordan Chamber of Industry said 80 Jordanian companies specializing across various segments of the food industry are participating in the exhibition, underscoring the sector’s growing regional and international engagement.
Jordan Chamber of Industry President Fathi Jaghbir said Gulfood ranks among the world’s most significant specialized food industry exhibitions, providing a strategic platform to showcase Jordanian industrial capabilities and to track global developments in food manufacturing, packaging technologies, and supply chain management. He added that participation in such international exhibitions directly enhances the competitiveness of Jordanian industrial exports and facilitates access to new markets.
Food industries sector representative Mohammad Jitan said Jordan’s participation reflects the qualitative progress achieved by the national food industry, citing expanded product diversity, compliance with international standards and specifications, and the capacity to meet consumer demand in regional and global markets. He noted that this engagement supports the sector’s shift toward higher-quality, value-added products.
The chamber also highlighted the role of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, noting that its director general visited the pavilions of participating companies to follow up on technical and regulatory matters and to hear manufacturers’ observations and needs. This engagement, the chamber said, reflects institutional commitment to supporting the food sector, enhancing product quality, and ensuring sustained adherence to food safety and quality standards.
Official support was further reflected by a visit from the Jordanian ambassador to Abu Dhabi, who toured the Jordanian pavilions and expressed support for efforts to promote national products and strengthen coordination with official institutions and the private sector in the United Arab Emirates, in a manner that serves Jordan’s economic interests and bolsters the presence of national industry in Gulf markets.
The chamber said the participation aims to support industrial exports and integrate Jordanian products more deeply into regional and global supply chains through coordinated institutional, governmental, and diplomatic efforts, contributing to sustainable growth in the national food industries sector.
