Amman, July 9 (Petra) – Jordan’s Ram Pharmaceutical Industries and Saudi Arabia’s Cigalah Healthcare on Thursday launched an investment partnership aimed at strengthening value-added investment in Jordan and expanding Jordanian-Saudi economic cooperation.
Minister of Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, who attended the launch ceremony, said Jordanian-Saudi relations are a model of deep-rooted ties, adding that the partnership reflects the depth of economic relations between the two countries and confidence among private-sector institutions.
He said the partnership marks an important step toward stronger Arab economic integration and cooperation in one of the most strategic sectors.
Investment in pharmaceuticals and healthcare is an investment in people, quality of life and societies’ ability to withstand challenges and crises, Abu Ghazaleh said, noting that an advanced pharmaceutical industry has become a strategic necessity for health security and national and economic resilience.
He said Jordan has built an advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing sector over decades, with products reaching dozens of regional and global markets.
Under the Economic Modernization Vision, the government gives special attention to value-added industries, particularly pharmaceuticals, as sectors capable of driving sustainable growth and creating quality jobs, he added.
Abu Ghazaleh said the partnership reflects confidence in Jordan’s investment environment, modern legislation, competitive advantages, qualified workforce, advanced infrastructure and access to regional and global markets.
He congratulated the two companies on launching the strategic partnership, expressing hope that it would serve as a model for further Arab investment partnerships and regional economic integration.
Participants said the partnership would strengthen economic cooperation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, reflect the strength of bilateral relations and open new prospects for Arab economic integration.
The launch comes amid growing regional and international interest in the pharmaceutical industry as a strategic sector that supports health security, supply chains, knowledge and technology transfer, exports and job creation.
The partnership builds on the strengths of two leading companies in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, both of which have a strong presence in Arab and international markets.
