Amman, April 15 (Petra) – Members of the Jordanian Senate took part in ad hoc sessions held during their participation in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) Coordination Meeting.

The coordination discussions, which were held on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), are hosted by Istanbul, Türkiye, from April 15 to 19.

Senator Dr. Hayel Obeidat engaged in the Health Committee meeting, in his capacity as a member of the union-affiliated committee.

Obeidat highlighted the current state of Jordan's health sector and the pharmaceutical industry, its global reach, and the healthcare system and its comprehensive coverage.

Noting justice and equality in health services in Jordan, he underscored importance of adolescent, reproductive, and mental health, which receive Royal patronage and attention from His Majesty King Abdullah II and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah.

Meanwhile, Senator Dr. Mahasen Jaghoub participated in the discussions of countries supporting Palestine, under the auspices of the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

Jaghoub reiterated Jordan's "unwavering" stance on establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

She referred to the Kingdom condemnation of Israel's repeated violations, its disregard for international law, and its attempts to alter status quo in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
