Amman, June 5 (Petra)-- Jordanian university students achieved outstanding success at the 10th Huawei ICT Competition, hosted in Shenzhen, China, securing second and third places globally in two major categories.

The Jordanian team competing in the Cloud Track won second place worldwide. The team consisted of students Sarah Al-Jamal, Mohammad Abu Al-Rub, and Mahmoud Adel from Aqaba University of Technology, Applied Science Private University, and Al Hussein Technical University.

Another Jordanian team earned third place globally in the Computing Track. The team included students Ahmad Khallaf, Malek Al-Adwan, and Ahmad Khader from Aqaba University of Technology, Al Hussein Bin Talal University, and the University of Jordan.

According to a statement issued by Huawei on Friday, the competition's tenth edition followed a series of qualifying rounds involving 131 teams from 100 countries. More than 220,000 contestants from nearly 2,000 universities and educational institutions worldwide participated in the event.

The Huawei ICT Competition is regarded as one of the world's leading contests in the information and communications technology sector. It aims to develop students' technical and innovative skills while promoting academic cooperation and knowledge exchange among educational institutions across the globe.
