Jordan's exports to EU countries grew by 54.3% at JD54m in January 2026: EuroCham:

Amman, April 4 (Petra) – President of European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (EuroCham Jordan), Ali Murad, said the "significant" increase in national exports to European Union countries during January 2026 reflects a "tangible" improvement in the capacity of Jordanian products to expand, compete, and access European markets.

In remarks to 'Petra," Murad noted His Majesty King Abdullah II's efforts have played a " remarkable" role in strengthening economic and investment cooperation and opening wider horizons for Jordanian products to enhance their presence in the markets of EU countries, which are a key economic partner for Jordan.

He added that the Jordanian-European Partnership Agreement, signed in 2002, is "one of the most important milestones" that has contributed to strengthening economic cooperation between Jordan and European countries.

He stated this agreement has contributed to expanding the scope of trade exchange and boosting investments.

During the first month of this year, he announced the growth in national exports to EU countries was 54.3 percent, reaching JD54 million, compared to JD35 million for the same month last year.

He said this growth is a "positive indicator of the effectiveness" of efforts to strengthen trade relations between Jordan and the European Union and to capitalize on existing joint trade agreements.

He indicated that this growth concentrated primarily in several vital sectors, mainly garment and related products, nitrogen fertilizers, chemicals, and raw phosphate and potash.

Jordan, he noted, has clear competitive advantages in these sectors in terms of quality, cost, and supply capacity.

Additionally, Murad noted these results reflect the improved performance of Jordanian companies' supply and production chains and their ability to meet the specifications and standards required by European markets.

This improvement, he stated, enhances opportunities to expand the market share of Jordanian products in those markets in the coming period.

He affirmed the growth in exports reflects the outcome of joint efforts between the public and private sectors to strengthen economic cooperation between Jordan and the European Union.

He noted "quality" of Jordanian national industries is gaining increasing acceptance in European markets, thanks to Jordanian factories' commitment to the highest international production standards and specifications.

He indicated that the European Union, along with the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) countries and non-Arab Asian countries, has been a driving force in this growth.

The main driver of the growth of Jordanian national exports, which recorded an increase of 11.2% on an annual basis, reflects "diversity" of export markets and the importance of strengthening economic partnerships with major international blocs, he pointed out.
