Jordan's exports to EU markets up by 49.3% in 1st 4 months of 2026-EuroCham

Amman, June 27 (Petra) – Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (EuroCham), Mohammed Samadi, said the "significant" increase in Jordan's exports to EU nations confirms "competitiveness" of Jordanian products in global markets.

According to official statistics, the value of Jordanian exports to EU countries increased by 49.3% during the first third of this year, reaching JD218 million, compared to JD146 million for the same period last year.

Samadi, in remarks to (Petra), said these exports are a "positive" indicator of the success of several modern trends in expanding the scope of exports, capitalizing on the avialable opportunities in European diversification.

He added that this growth also confirms efforts of both the Kingdom's public and private sectors to "clearly" enhance presence of Jordanian products in Europe.

He added that this growth reflects "quality" of Jordanian products and their ability to meet European demand and specifications, particularly in the industrial, food, pharmaceutical, and chemical sectors, which possess "promising" opportunities for all their exports to be delivered to EU countries.

Samadi noted: "The European Union is one of the Kingdom's key trading partner and one of the world's largest trade blocs, making it difficult to diversify economic and trade relations with this destination, given the reliance on a limited number of traditional options." He noted the next phase requires strengthening efforts to promote Jordanian products in these markets and capitalizing on the transformations occurring in global supply chains.

On future steps, Samadi called for enhancing the partnership between the public and private sectors to support Jordanian exporters by streamlining trade procedures, developing logistics services, and cutting production and export costs.

This effort, he stated, will enable national companies to increase their "competitiveness" and expand into European markets, which would "positively" impact the national economy and the balance of foreign trade, and create more job opportunities for Jordanians.
