AMMAN, August 1 (Petra) -- The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) announced that the number of companies enrolled in its "Committed Trader" program rose to 151 during the first half of the year, compared to 143 companies during the same period in 2025, marking an increase of eight companies and a growth rate of approximately 5.6 percent.
In a statement outlining efforts to empower local products and expand their market share, JSMO reported that 158 Jordanian Quality Mark certificates were issued during the first half of the year. The organization emphasized that acquiring the quality mark serves as definitive proof of product excellence and compliance with top-tier technical specifications, granting local items a distinct competitive edge in both domestic and international markets.
JSMO noted that the continued expansion of the "Committed Trader" program reflects the success of its approach in streamlining oversight procedures for importers who adhere to technical regulations and standards across the program's four categories. The initiative aims to institutionalize public-private sector partnership, offer practical facilitation to compliant merchants, and accelerate the flow of imported goods through border crossings.
By minimizing clearance times and reducing storage, delay, and repeated testing costs for regular imports, the program strengthens supply chain efficiency and enhances the status of participating merchants as trusted regulatory partners.
Furthermore, JSMO's ongoing initiatives to support export capabilities yielded 108 Halal certificates during the same period, directly facilitating the entry of Jordanian goods into promising regional and global Islamic markets that mandate compliance certification.
The organization urged all industrial, commercial, and service sectors to leverage its specialized programs and services, reaffirming its full commitment to deploying its technical resources and human expertise to serve the national economy and elevate product quality standards across the Kingdom.
