Ramtha, March 29 (Petra) -- President of the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), Khaled Al-Salem, said that the Arab and foreign communities’ heritage exhibition represents an important annual event that reflects the university’s mission to promote cultural diversity and entrench the values of respect and understanding among different peoples, noting the university’s keenness to provide an educational environment that embraces diversity and creativity.

Al-Salem made his remarks during the opening of the 18th edition of the Arab and foreign communities’ heritage exhibition on Sunday, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at the university, with the participation of several Arab cultural attachés and wide participation from international students and resident communities, as part of efforts to enhance cultural diversity and openness within the campus.

He added that such activities help shape students’ personalities and broaden their perspectives while strengthening their role as ambassadors of their cultures, reflecting Jordan as a model of security, peace, and cultural openness.

Participating communities were keen to showcase their rich and diverse cultural heritage and highlight key issues in their respective countries, while some presentations included images and news reflecting the close ties between them and Jordan.

The exhibition included participation from Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Turkiye, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Egypt, Lebanon, Bahrain, Morocco, and Yemen, reflecting the richness of cultural diversity and the multiplicity of civilizational experiences and presenting a distinguished image of cultural interaction within the university.

Dean of Student Affairs Majed Masadeh said the exhibition provides a practical opportunity for students to exchange cultural experiences and become familiar with the heritage of others up close, noting that the event included interactive displays and educational activities aimed at enhancing active participation and interaction among students of different nationalities.

He added that the exhibition reflects the university’s interest in involving students in presenting a living image of their cultures, contributing to the development of their communication and understanding skills, and making the event a comprehensive educational and cultural experience.

For his part, President of the Arab and Foreign Students Club, student Abdullah Khalaf, praised the Deanship of Student Affairs' role in providing facilities for extracurricular activities, affirming that the club, which includes communities from various nationalities, serves as a link between students and the university administration.

The opening was attended by a number of deans, faculty and administrative staff members and a large number of university students.
