Amman, April 27 (Petra) – A joint meeting was held at the Public Security Directorate (PSD) on Monday to discuss accelerating digital transformation projects between the Ministries of Justice and Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the Public Security Directorate.

The meeting, which brought together Minister of Justice Bassam Talhouni, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smirat, and PSD Director Major General Obaidullah Maayta, tackled completed digital transformation projects and programs and their impact on services and facilities provided to citizens.

It also aimed to develop a vision for new projects currently underway or planned for the future, with the aim of fully automating services by the PSD and the Ministries of Justice and Digital Economy.

The Justice Minister told the meeting his ministry is committed to closer cooperation with the PSD as a key partner in supporting the justice system and law enforcement, particularly developing judicial procedures and integrating them with security aspects.

He commended digital transformation in several legal services and procedures, notably the remote trial program, which streamlined litigation procedures and saved time and effort.

He pointed to other digital projects underway that will see the light in the near future, serving litigation procedures and providing comprehensive electronic services offered by the ministry and its partners, including the PSD and other state institutions.

The digital economy minister highlighted the ministry's role as a leader in digital transformation projects in partnership with various state institutions, stressing that the PSD, with its various departments and units, is among key partners with whom the ministry has completed numerous projects and streamlined service procedures.
