Amman, Oct. 20 (Petra) – The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) announced the completion of preparations for the 13th Gamers Summit, set to launch on November 1 under the theme "From North to South... Play to Learn." The summit, organized through KAFD’s Jordan Gaming Lab, continues its mission to empower youth and foster innovation in Jordan’s gaming industry.

This year’s theme, "Play to Learn," underscores the role of gaming in supporting education and developing creative skills among youth. The summit will highlight the implementation of the Minecraft Education program in Jordanian schools as a pioneering model for integrating gaming into learning.

The event will bring together game developers, educators, and decision-makers to explore the potential of game-based learning and share national success stories in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and creative entrepreneurship. The summit aims to strengthen cooperation between the education and gaming sectors in Jordan and across the region.

Reflecting the Fund’s vision of leveraging technology for learning and innovation, the summit’s activities will span several governorates and cultural landmarks. The official opening will take place at Jerash’s Southern Theater, featuring keynote sessions on inclusivity and storytelling inspired by the city’s heritage. Subsequent sessions and training programs will be held in Madaba, Ma’an, and Aqaba, including eSports tournaments and game development workshops.

The summit will conclude in Aqaba with the hosting of the Pocket Gamer Connects Aqaba global conference, which will gather international experts, investors, and gaming companies to discuss industry trends, entrepreneurial experiences, and investment opportunities.

In line with its commitment to inclusivity, the summit will feature workshops for people with disabilities, reflecting KAFD’s and the Jordan Gaming Lab’s dedication to ensuring equal participation and skill development opportunities in eSports.

Several Jordanian universities have recently introduced bachelor’s programs in digital game development and design, reinforcing Jordan’s position as a regional hub for the gaming industry and providing students with pathways to engage in this growing sector.

Launched in 2011 at the initiative of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Jordan Gaming Lab aims to develop the electronic gaming industry and create an enabling environment for local developers through specialized training programs and awareness initiatives that build a generation of creative, competitive professionals.
