Amman, March 10 (Petra) - His Majesty King Abdullah II chaired a meeting on Tuesday at the National Centre for Security and Crises Management (NCSCM), where he reviewed the readiness of the centre and various state institutions to deal with the repercussions of current regional developments.

During the meeting, attended by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, who is chairman of the NCSCM, His Majesty was briefed on measures being taken to deal with attacks targeting Jordan, in order to safeguard the security of the Kingdom and the safety of its citizens.

The King expressed appreciation for the efforts of all institutions and agencies in defending the Kingdom and ensuring the safety of its people, underscoring the importance of maintaining coordination among all the concerned parties.

His Majesty stressed the need to be prepared for any emergency, develop rapid response plans, and ensure the availability of essential goods through secure stockpiles and sustainable supply chains.

The King also emphasised the importance of preparing plans to ensure adequate supplies of energy and raw materials, and regulating markets to prevent price gouging.

Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, General Intelligence Department Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Husni, Public Security Directorate Director Maj. Gen. Obeidallah Maaytah, and a number of ministers attended the meeting.
