King receives France Parliament delegation

Amman, September 15 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday received a delegation from the French Parliament, including representatives of the French-Jordanian Friendship Committee, according to a royal court statement.
During the meeting, held at Al Husseiniya Palace and attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, His Majesty highlighted the long-standing relations between Jordan and France, as well as the importance of enhancing cooperation across various sectors, particularly in the political and parliamentary spheres.
The King commended France for hosting the latest round of the Aqaba Process meetings, being held later this week, which will explore ways to support the Lebanese Armed Forces. His Majesty also emphasised Jordan’s commitment to maintaining political coordination and consultation with France.
The meeting also touched on recent regional developments and the need to step up international efforts to achieve comprehensive and sustainable de-escalation that advances security and stability in the region.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, President of the French-Jordanian Friendship Association Ibrahim Tarawneh, and France’s Ambassador to Jordan Franck Gellet attended the meeting.
