Amman, March 19 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Jordan Valley Authority (JVA) warned that King Talal Dam north of the Kingdom is expected to overflow within hours as it nears full storage capacity of 75 million cubic meters.
JVA said the dam has reached 100 percent of its capacity, with excess water likely to flow toward the Jordan Valley and the King Abdullah Canal, and urged citizens and farmers to take necessary precautions and avoid approaching valley streams. Municipalities and relevant entities were also called on to remain on alert.
JVA also stressed the need to follow official platforms of the ministry and the Jordan Valley Authority for updates on dam conditions and potential overflows amid ongoing unstable weather conditions.
