Moscow, March 31 (Petra) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday called for an end to escalation in the Middle East, warning of a wider conflict and further deterioration in global energy markets.

Lavrov said during a press conference that the Middle East crisis could worsen into a broader conflict if the current confrontations continue, potentially threatening the stability of the entire region. He added that Russia is ready to act as a mediator between the parties involved in the Middle East conflict, seeking to contain the crisis and halt the escalation.
