Beirut, Aug. 8 (Petra) -- Three Lebanese soldiers were injured, one moderately, while attempting to detonate unexploded ordnance in the town of Zawtar al-Gharbiyeh in the Nabatieh Governorate, the Lebanese Armed Forces announced in a statement on Saturday.
Meanwhile, continuous Israeli artillery shelling targeted the town of Al-Mansouri in the Tyre District, coinciding with airstrikes on the town of Mayfadoun in the Nabatieh District.
Israeli forces also executed controlled demolition operations across several towns in southern Lebanon, with the largest concentration occurring in the town of Al-Qantara.
A security source reported that an Israeli armored unit advanced toward the northwestern outskirts of Hadatha in southern Lebanon, where a Merkava tank fired several shells, igniting fires in the area.
Concurrently, Israeli forces advanced deeper into Zawtar al-Gharbiyeh an area under the oversight of the Lebanese Army and began constructing a high earthen berm, a fortification step signaling a potential expansion of the ground incursion.
