Amman, March 7 (Petra) - Assistant Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives Hala Al-Jarrah stressed the importance of empowering women and youth and enhancing their role in public life, saying they represent a fundamental pillar in Jordan’s path toward modernisation and comprehensive development.

Al-Jarrah spoke during her participation in an event celebrating success stories under the projects "Women in the Local Space" and the "Youth Media Incubator," organised by the We Rise Center for Sustainable Development, in the presence of several community and media stakeholders.

Al-Jarrah said that these initiatives represent an important milestone in empowering women and youth, as they provide opportunities to build capacities, strengthen leadership and media skills, and increase their effective participation in political, social, and economic life.

She explained that the "Women in the Local Space" project seeks to enhance the presence of Jordanian women in public work and decision-making at the local level through developing their leadership skills and political communication abilities, making them a key partner in the nation-building process.

She also noted that the "Youth Media Incubator" project aims to support young people and equip them with digital media tools and content creation skills that produce impact, thereby promoting community dialogue, raising the level of national awareness, and highlighting Jordan’s positive image in various international forums.

She praised the We Rise Center for Sustainable Development's role in supporting development initiatives, affirming that such projects contribute to preparing a generation capable of exerting positive influence and bringing change to their society.

She added that the Lower House of Representatives places great importance on supporting modernisation pathways and working to develop legislative frameworks that enhance the participation of women and youth across various fields, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II supporting their empowerment and involvement in the national development process.

Al-Jarrah expressed appreciation for every woman and young person contributing to serving the nation, stressing that belief in the role of each individual in society and collective action represents the key to success and to building strong and stable communities.
