Salt, Jan. 5 (Petra) -- Ma'an and Aqaba University Colleges have earned the Jordanian Quality Assurance Certificate for a period of four years, following a comprehensive institutional evaluation based on national standards.

Ahmad Al-Ajlouni, President of Al-Balqa Applied University, described the certification as a significant milestone that highlights the university’s ongoing commitment to excellence, governance, and institutional quality. He emphasized that this achievement was the result of a coordinated, methodical effort led by the university’s leadership in close collaboration with the colleges and supporting units, alongside the continuous guidance of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission (AQAC).

He praised the dedication of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, as well as the academic and administrative teams at Ma’an and Aqaba Colleges, for their professionalism in meeting evaluation requirements and implementing improvement initiatives.

Al-Ajlouni added that the university remains focused on advancing its academic and administrative systems and strengthening applied and technical education to meet labor market demands, aligning with national development priorities and economic modernization goals. He noted that the evaluation results serve as motivation to continue enhancing the quality of higher education, particularly in southern governorates and Aqaba.

Haitham Hammoud Shibli, Vice President of the University for Planning and Quality Assurance, highlighted that the accreditation reflects the maturity of the university’s quality framework and the effectiveness of its policies and procedures.

Looking ahead, he said the focus will be on promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement across all colleges, supporting national development, workforce readiness, and the university’s role as a leading center for applied and technical education.
