Ma'an, Aug. 11 (Petra) -- Layan Nasser Abu Tawileh of Ma'an Secondary School for Girls ranked first in the Ma'an District Education Directorate in this year's General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihi) results, scoring 99.5% in the engineering, science, and technology track.
Her result also placed her at the top of the Tawjihi achievers in the city of Ma'an.
Abu Tawileh said she was delighted with the achievement, attributing her success to hard work, perseverance, and dedication throughout the academic year, as well as focus, discipline, and a commitment to self-directed learning.
Her ambition, determination, and persistence, coupled with the support of her family and teachers, helped her achieve the result, she said.
The achievement would motivate her to continue her education and pursue further ambitions, Abu Tawileh said, expressing her gratitude to her family, teachers, and everyone who supported her throughout her studies.
She dedicated the achievement to her family, which she said had played the greatest role in providing her with support and encouragement.
The next stage would mark the beginning of efforts to fulfill her academic and professional ambitions and contribute to serving Jordan, she said.
Abu Tawileh said she hoped to enroll in an engineering college and continue her academic journey to achieve her ambitions and build her professional future.
Her father expressed his great joy and pride at his daughter's achievement and first-place ranking, saying her success was the result of her hard work, organization, and commitment to making the most of her time studying.
She spent most of her day studying, including during holidays, and spared no effort in pursuing her goal, he said, adding that this had been a key factor behind her outstanding performance.
Providing children with a comfortable and supportive psychological environment was essential to academic excellence, he said, noting that success was less dependent on gifts or material incentives than on children feeling safe, stable, and supported within their families.
Ma'an Education Director Safaa Al-Mahamid congratulated all top-performing students, saying their achievements crowned years of hard work, perseverance, and dedication to acquiring knowledge and learning, making them role models for future generations.
She urged the top students to maintain their determination and perseverance throughout their university studies and work to fulfill both their ambitions and the country's hopes for them as the future generation.
Al-Mahamid congratulated all graduates and their parents and praised families for supporting and motivating their children.
She also thanked teachers and all education-sector employees for their dedication and commitment to their educational mission and for their efforts throughout the academic year to support students and enable them to succeed and excel.
Al-Mahamid said female students secured the top three positions in the Ma'an District.
Abu Tawileh ranked first with 99.5% in the engineering, science, and technology track, while Misk Eid Al-Zoubi of Ma'an Secondary School for Girls ranked second with 99.4% in the health sciences track.
Namaa Ibrahim Al-Qaramseh of Fatima Abdul Hamid Musleh Mixed School ranked third with 98.2% in the languages, social sciences, law, and Islamic studies track.
