Madaba, August 18 (Petra) - The Greater Madaba Municipality issued a JD1 million tender on Tuesday to address major rainwater pooling hotspots identified during the last rainy season.
Municipal crews identified 13 high-priority sites for the upgrade, aimed at resolving drainage issues and upgrading local infrastructure before the cold season.
Mayor of Madaba Haitham Juwainat said the tender follows a comprehensive assessment mapping critical flood zones across all municipal districts.
The project targets high-priority sites across the municipality to optimize spending, improve drainage, and protect public safety during winter storms, according to the mayor.
Juwainat said that stormwater management remains a top priority, with crews actively resolving field issues to ensure the city is "safer and better prepared for winter." //Petra// HA
