Maintenance, expansion works boost Aima Club in Tafilah, year after PM’s visit

Tafilah, Feb. 18 (Petra) -- Maintenance and expansion works at the Aima Sports, Cultural and Social Club in Tafilah Governorate have been completed, significantly upgrading the facility’s infrastructure and operational capacity.

The project, implemented by a local contractor, included the construction of a second floor and the completion of structural and maintenance works on the ground floor in line with approved engineering designs and technical specifications. Finalized within 121 consecutive days, the rehabilitation is set to enhance the club’s ability to host youth, cultural, and sports activities, providing a safer and more suitable environment for young people in the area.

The four-month project was carried out in response to demands from the youth sector in the Aima area to develop and expand the club, which is regarded as one of the leading sports and youth institutions northeast of Tafilah city.

The works were implemented in accordance with directives issued by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan during his visit to the club last year, with the project reaching completion just one year after that visit.

Club President Ahmed Saoud said the facility was also equipped with a 100-inch display screen, computers, and office equipment, reflecting the government’s responsiveness to the needs of the youth sector in the governorate.

Saoud added that the Prime Minister’s visit resulted in several measures to support the club, including the dispatch of a Ministry of Youth committee to follow up on administrative requests, most notably the establishment of a fully equipped gym.

The club’s administrative board described the project as a milestone in its institutional development, highlighting effective coordination among relevant stakeholders. It expressed appreciation for the government’s support and the follow-up by the Minister of Youth, and commended the executing company’s management, engineering, and technical teams for completing the project in line with established standards.
