Amman, Feb. 3 (Petra) -- The national team for enabling women-owned enterprises to access economic opportunities held its regular meeting on Monday, chaired by Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply Secretary General Dana Zoubi, at Ameed Food Industries Company.
According to a ministry statement, the team reviewed key achievements delivered by national policies to empower women-owned businesses during 2025 under the executive plans, and discussed technical-team initiatives scheduled for implementation this year.
Priority measures target technical assistance and specialized training programs to develop projects and improve growth readiness on practical, sustainable foundations.
The meeting also went over implementing a support project for 35 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises owned or managed by women in the food sector, and selecting a number of companies to participate in the Food and Hospitality Asia exhibition, scheduled to be held in Singapore in April.
Participants also reviewed continued implementation of a program to develop e-commerce and digital marketing solutions for a slew of companies across the chemicals and cosmetics, jewelry, food industries, and services sectors.
The attendees agreed to hold briefings on available financing programs and grants, and provide mentoring sessions and financial consultations to support women entrepreneurs in cash-flow management and in making appropriate financing decisions.
The statement noted announcement of 50 women-owned eligible companies for the exporters program in the first half of this year.
Discussions are underway to coordinate a trade mission to a selected country, which will be picked on specified criteria aligned with the scale and importance of opportunities in the target market.
Following the meeting, the team conducted a field visit in Ameed Food Industries Company facilities and were thoroufgly briefed on its key activities and achievements, mainly the mechanism to apply creativity and innovation in product development, and the latest technologies used to maintain up-to-date production standards.
The visit provided a practical platform for knowledge exchange and learning from successful industrial-sector experiences.
Rima Abdel Hadi, the company’s general manager and a member of the national team, said such field visits should continue due to their role in strengthening partnerships, exchanging expertise, and providing the necessary support, helping deepen cooperation between the public and private sectors.
Zoubi said Ameed is the first entity to host a field visit under the team’s program, calling for engaging with "successful" national models and leveraging accumulated experience.
Commending the technical teams’ work, she noted the implemented initiatives and the approach to advancing executive plans reflect the team’s seriousness in moving from planning to execution and delivering tangible impact to help women entrepreneurs achieve measurable progress and access available economic opportunities.
The ministry said the discussion aligns with the team’s direction to conduct field visits with women entrepreneurs and institutions involved in women’s economic empowerment, aimed to transfer knowledge, build networks, and draw on practical models that can support business development, enhance competitiveness in local and global markets, and expand growth prospects for women-owned enterprises.
