Amman, Dec 27 (Petra) – The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) on Saturday warned the public and business owners against purchasing diesel through fake websites, or falling for offers promoted by pages impersonating fuel companies to deliver it to their premises.

In a statement, the organization called on consumers not to buy fuel from unknown or unlicensed online sources, and to check the tanker's JSMO-issued permit to ensure its validity.

It stressed verification of tanker meter seals, zeroing the meter, and ensuring the hose is full of diesel before filling, as well as obtaining a printed invoice of the amount of fuel dispensed that matches the meter reading.

The JSMO also called on consumers to retain the tanker's registration number and name of the filling station or company it belongs to for follow-up or prosecution "in case of any observations or violations." It said complaints and inquiries about fuel quantity or quality can be filed on its complaints hotline and WhatsApp (065301243), its official website (www.jsmo.gov.jo), or "At Your Service" application.
