Amman, Oct. 8 (Petra) -- A stretch of pleasant autumn weather will continue to sweep across the Kingdom this week, with cool breezes, mild days, and patches of cloud expected through Saturday, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

On Wednesday, the weather will be mild over the highlands and plains and moderate in other regions, with occasional low clouds drifting across the sky. Westerly winds will blow at a moderate pace, adding a light chill to the air.

Thursday will bring a slight dip in temperatures and partly cloudy to cloudy conditions, especially in the north and center of the Kingdom. The weather will stay mild in most regions and warmer around the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, where scattered rain showers may fall intermittently. Northwesterly winds will be moderate to active at times, stirring dust in desert areas.

By Friday, the Kingdom will return to stable and mild conditions, with low clouds appearing occasionally and moderate northwesterly winds. The same pattern will carry into Saturday, with gentle breezes and pleasant daytime temperatures.

Temperature readings for Wednesday show highs and lows of 26 and 16 degrees Celsius in East Amman, 24 and 14 in West Amman, 23 and 12 in the northern highlands, and 22 and 11 in the Sharah highlands. In desert areas, temperatures will range between 30 and 17 degrees, while the plains are expected to record 27 and 16 degrees.

The northern Jordan Valley will see 33 and 21 degrees, compared to 35 and 24 degrees in the southern Jordan Valley. Around the Dead Sea, temperatures will reach 33 and 23 degrees, and 34 and 23 degrees in Aqaba.
