Military Media Director: JAF starts implementing royal directive for restructuring and modernization

Amman, Jan 24 (Petra) -- Director of Military Media Brigadier General Mustafa Heyari said on Saturday the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF) will start implementing the directive of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander, for restructuring and modernization of the Armed Forces, in line with the Royal vision to boost the national security system.

Heyari said the directive comes at a critical time, given rapid regional and international changes and advancements in global military technology, which have redefined military power and future warfare.

The criteria for superiority is no longer based on numbers, but on the quality of weaponry, efficiency of personnel, and ability to utilize advanced technology, he said.

His Majesty has a clear, forward-looking vision, based on not waiting or delaying in keeping pace with these changes, he said, adding that the supreme commander ordered devising a comprehensive strategy and a clear roadmap to ensure the readiness and operational capabilities of the Armed Forces in a changing regional and international security environment.

His Majesty set a three-year timeline for transition and transformation, achieving a balance between the requirements of institutional modernization and rapid technological advancements, and allowing for the development of combat methods and military performance according to modern and well-considered concepts, Heyari pointed out.

The Royal Message emphasized the pivotal role of the Armed Forces personnel and leadership in implementing the modernization process, he said, noting that His Majesty began by commending their efforts in the process of development and modernization, and concluded by directing the immediate implementation of the strategy and roadmap, expressing his absolute confidence in their ability to shoulder the responsibility and fulfill their duty.

The media director said the modernization and restructuring process will also rely on the vital role of the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JDDB), the national arm specialized in development and manufacture of defense materials and systems.

The JDDB, he said, manufactures and develops defense products that meet the operational needs of JAF according to the highest technical and technological standards, in line with the requirements of national defense and future warfare, and contributes to enhancing self-reliance in the field of defense industries.

The JDDB is a key pillar in the military development system, through providing advanced defense solutions, localizing technology, and supporting modernization and armament plans, thereby enhancing the readiness of the Armed Forces and their ability to carry out their tasks efficiently and effectively, in accordance with the directives and vision of His Majesty, Heyari pointed out.

He reiterated that JAF is forging ahead with implementation of Royal directives with utmost efficiency and competence, thereby strengthening their resilience and ability to defend the country and safeguard its security and stability.
