Amman, April 16 (Petra) – Minister of Local Administration, Walid Masri, on Thursday, commended efforts of the heads of municipal committees, joint services councils and staff, reflecting their achievements in marking Jordanian Flag Day.

In a statement, Masri praised these efforts to raise the national flag in Jordan's streets, squares, bridges, buildings, and public spaces nationwide and participation of national institutions in commemorating this occasion.

Masri said this event reflects "achievements and the improvement of services provided to citizens." This morning, Ministry of Local Administration's workers observed the occasion in front of its headquarters, affirming the flag's status as a symbol of unity, sovereignty, and national identity.

The ceremony began with raising the Jordanian flag and the Royal Anthem.

During the activities, flags were also handed over to passersby as a gesture of pride in the nation's banner, underscoring their "commitment" to maintaining "diligent and responsible" work to contribute to the Kingdom's progress and development.

The ministry directed municipalities, joint services councils, and municipal affairs directorates to enhance presence of the flag in the overall visual landscape, aimed to fly the nation’s flag in the most splendid image.

The move also sought to strengthen partnership with all national institutions to highlight this occasion to reflect the flag’s status in the hearts of Jordanians.
