Amman, Mar. 4 (Petra) –Fees and charges, which student should pay to services offices assisting higher education institutions, have financial caps, in accordance with applicable legislation, warning against exceeding ceilings, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research said.

Based on the Fees and Charges Instructions for Student Services Offices at Higher Education Institutions No. (3) of 2014, the ministry noted any amounts collected outside the specified framework constitute a "clear" violation.

In a statement Wednesday, the ministry said the financial caps for students wishing to study abroad are set at a maximum fee of JD150 for completing the admission process at Arab universities, and JD300 for handling the registration process, including all requirements up to enrollment.

Regarding foreign universities, the ministry stated the maximum fee for processing the admission process is JD200 and JD400 for completing the registration process.

The ministry noted branches of foreign universities in Arab countries are treated equally as Arab counterparts in terms of financial limits.

As for non-Jordanian students wishing to study in Jordan, the ministry set a maximum fee of JD500 for both the admission and registration processes combined, covering all requirements including enrollment.

The ministry urged students and their parents to refrain from paying any additional amounts exceeding these limits and retain official receipts to safeguard their rights.
