Mutah University president receives Malaysian ambassador, Philippine consul

Karak, May 18 (Petra) -- Mutah University President Salameh Al-Naimat on Monday received Mohammed Nasri bin Abdul Rahman, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Jordan, and Sheila Marie Andalisan, the Philippine Consul, to discuss mechanisms for strengthening scientific, academic, and cultural cooperation, state media reported.

The diplomatic meeting, which was attended by the university’s vice presidents, focused on expanding institutional partnerships between Mutah University and educational institutions in both Malaysia and the Philippines.

Al-Naimat emphasized the university's commitment to expanding its international academic presence and engaging with global educational frameworks. He noted that the university currently hosts students representing more than 28 nationalities from various Arab and foreign countries, which underscores its academic standing and its role in promoting cultural and academic diversity on campus.

The discussions covered potential avenues of cooperation, specifically centering on student and faculty exchange programs, joint scientific research initiatives, and the mutual exchange of institutional expertise to enhance the overall educational environment for students.

The Malaysian ambassador and the Philippine consul praised the academic standards achieved by Mutah University and commended its educational ecosystem, which attracts international students. They both stressed the importance of building sustainable academic and research-driven partnerships with the university moving forward.
