NEPCO's electricity sales rise 2.5% in 1st 5 months of 2026-Data

Amman, June 14 (Petra) -National Electric Power Company (NEPCO)'s total sales rose by 2.5% during the January-May period of 2026, compared to 2025.

According to company data, total sales reached 9,401.5 gigawatt-hours (GWh), compared to 9,174 GWh during the same period last year.

Overall sales for the Kingdom's three distribution companies reached 9,044 GWh, compared to 8,838 GWh, representing a 2.3% increase.

On the sales distribution, Jordan Electric Power Company (JEPCO) sold 5,718.2 GWh, compared to 5,549.2 GWh at 3.0%, Irbid Electric Power Company (IEPCO) sold 1,763.4 GWh, compared to 1,717.5 GWh at 2.7%, while Electricity Distribution Company (EDCO) sold 1,562.4 GWh, compared to 1,571.3 GWh at the lowest rate of 0.6%.

Based on the data, sales to major subscribers increased from 206.3 GWh to 208 GWh, marking an 0.8% increase.

Exported electricity also surged from 129.7 GWh to 149.5 GWh, recording a 15.3% rise.

As for exports break down, General Company for Electricity Transmission in Central Region exported 62 GWh, compared to 54.7 GWh, representing 13.3%.

The data noted Jerusalem District Electricity Company exported 84.3 GWh, compared with 72.1 GWh, representing 16.9% and Trebil border crossing facility with Iraq exported 3.2 GWh, against 2.9 GWh, constituting 10.3%.
