This move reflects the Kingdom’s role in supporting the Arab security cooperation framework and strengthening joint efforts to combat drugs, organized crime, and cross-border crime.

During the opening ceremony, Faraya said Jordan, under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership, continues its efforts to support security and stability and strengthen pan-Arab cooperation ties.

By hosting this bureau, Faraya noted that the Kingdom demonstrates its commitment to foster joint Arab security action and provide the necessary resources to enable the bureau to carry out its duties "efficiently and adequately".

He highlighted the bureau's "significant" role in coordinating the efforts of member states to combat drugs and crime, citing its efforts in fostering cooperation, training, and exchanging expertise, which, in turn, enhances preparedness of Arab security agencies and their capacity to address both current and future security challenges.

Meanwhile, PSD Director noted that the inauguration of the new facility is part of an ongoing effort to develop the Arab security framework and aims to strengthen the capabilities of relevant agencies to confront drug trafficking, smuggling networks and organized crime.

He said this goals is achieved by expanding security and intelligence cooperation and advancing technical and operational capacities to keep pace with evolving security challenges.

The three officials toured the new facility, inspecting its various departments and equipment, noting the available resources to support the bureau in fulfilling its mandate and enhancing mechanisms for security coordination and cooperation among member states.
