One-Stop Platform Launched to Streamline National Water Carrier Project Procedures

Aqaba, Aug. 3 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Water and Irrigation, in partnership with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and with technical support from the United States government, on Monday launched the One-Stop Platform for the National Water Carrier Project, introducing a unified digital system aimed at streamlining licensing and permit procedures and accelerating project implementation.

The launch marks the official integration of the platform with ASEZA's digital government services and forms part of the government's commitment under the National Water Carrier Project agreement to establish a unified mechanism for managing project-related licenses and permits.

The event was attended by Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abu Al-Saud, Minister of Youth Raed Al-Adwan and ASEZA Chairman Shadi Ramzi Al-Majali.

The platform provides a single digital gateway for submitting, processing and tracking licensing and permit applications electronically, enhancing coordination among government entities, improving efficiency and reducing administrative procedures.

During its initial phase, the platform is linked to ASEZA's digital services, providing access to 22 government services. This will expand to 61 services once integration is completed with participating entities, including the Greater Amman Municipality, the ministries of Public Works and Housing, Interior, Labour, Local Administration, Agriculture and Finance, as well as the Customs Department and the Income and Sales Tax Department.

Abu Al-Saud described the launch as a key milestone in implementing one of Jordan's largest strategic infrastructure projects, saying the platform reflects the government's commitment to digital transformation, institutional integration and improving the efficiency of public services.

He said the system will accelerate the issuance of permits and licenses, enhance transparency and unify procedures across government agencies, helping keep the National Water Carrier Project on schedule in line with the Economic Modernization Vision and the water sector's strategic plan.

The minister reaffirmed that the National Water Carrier Project remains a cornerstone of Jordan's efforts to strengthen long-term water security, adding that the ministry will continue working with its partners to expand digital integration and activate additional platform services.

He also commended ASEZA for its role in developing the platform and acknowledged the technical support provided by the United States government, saying the partnership contributes to strengthening institutional capacity and creating a more efficient regulatory environment for strategic projects.

Al-Adwan said the National Water Carrier Project reflects Jordan's commitment to investing in strategic infrastructure that serves future generations, noting that digital transformation has become a central pillar of public sector modernization and improved government performance.

He added that the One-Stop Platform demonstrates successful institutional cooperation and highlights the importance of investing in digital capabilities and national talent to accelerate the implementation of priority national projects.

Al-Majali described the platform as an advanced model of institutional integration that supports the government's vision of building a fully integrated digital public sector capable of facilitating major national projects through more efficient regulatory procedures.

He said ASEZA considers the National Water Carrier Project one of Jordan's most significant strategic initiatives because of its direct contribution to strengthening water security and supporting economic development. He added that the authority has dedicated its technical and administrative resources to completing the electronic integration required for the platform.

Al-Majali also said the technical support provided by the United States government reflects the strong partnership between the two countries in implementing strategic projects while supporting knowledge transfer, institutional capacity building and the adoption of international best practices in digital transformation and governance.
