Amman, June 21 (Petra) – The Department of Statistics and Orange Jordan signed a technical and institutional cooperation agreement to develop and implement software systems and digital solutions supporting the 2026 General Population and Housing Census, a key national project aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of statistical operations.
According to a statement issued by Orange Jordan on Sunday, the agreement was signed by Director General of the Department of Statistics Haider Freihat and Executive Director of the Corporate and Business Unit at Orange Jordan Ahmed Abu Dhiab.
Under the agreement, Orange Jordan will develop and integrate software systems and provide the technological infrastructure required to support all stages of the census, from data package preparation and field enumeration of population and housing units to data processing and the production of preliminary and final results in line with the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
The agreement also provides for continuous technical support during field operations, in addition to knowledge transfer and capacity-building programs for Department of Statistics personnel to support sustainable institutional development.
The two sides stressed the importance of adhering to best practices and standards in cybersecurity and data protection to safeguard information security, preserve the confidentiality of statistical data, and support the Kingdom's efforts to conduct a modern digital census that aligns with the latest technological developments.
Abu Dhiab said Orange Jordan is proud of its strategic partnership with the Department of Statistics, noting that the agreement reflects the company's commitment to supporting national projects through advanced infrastructure and innovative digital solutions.
He said Orange Jordan will leverage its technological expertise and capabilities to help ensure the efficient and accurate implementation of the census project.
The agreement reflects government efforts to strengthen public-private sector cooperation in support of digital transformation and the adoption of advanced technologies in the implementation of the 2026 General Population and Housing Census. The initiative is expected to improve the efficiency of statistical processes, accelerate data production, and enhance data accuracy.
