Mafraq, June 30 (Petra) -Director General of the Department of Statistics (DoS), Dr. Haider Freihat, said the field performance indicators for the 2026 General Population and Housing Census reflect "rapid progress" in the implementation of work on the ground.
During his meeting on Tuesday, with Executive Council of Mafraq governorate, Freihat reviewed the latest developments in the current phase of the census work.
Freihat stated the overall completion rate has reached 97%, an indicator that reflects "readiness" of field operations and the continued implementation, in accordance with the approved timetable.
Freihat, based on the data presented during the meeting, showed the completion rate for enumerating buildings reached 97.2%, while the completion rate for the blocks stood at 97%, confirming the progress achieved in building the necessary spatial and data base for the enumeration phase.

For his part, the Governor of Mafraq, Dr. Firas Abu Qaoud, urged continued cooperation and integration among various entities to ensure the census success, considering it a national project that provides a "modern database to support planning and development policies."
