Palestinian-Jordanian Business Forum discusses partnership prospects

Amman, August 6 (Petra) – The Palestinian-Jordanian Business Forum (PJBF) held its 13th Partnership and Business Meeting on Wednesday evening to discuss ways to strengthen businesspeople cooperation in the Kingdom and exchange expertise.

According to a PJBF statement issued Thursday, the event, held in partnership with the Amman Chamber of Industry and the East Amman Industrial Investors Association, was attended by 250 businesspeople representing various commercial, industrial, and service sectors.

The activity aims to build communication channels among businesspeople in the industrial sector and others in various commercial sectors.

Talking at the meeting, PJBF Chairman, Nazmi Atmeh, stated discussions come within the framework of enhancing bilateral trade, facilitating business deals, promoting integration among businesspeople, and exchanging expertise.

For his part, Dr. Iyad Abu Haltam, a member of the Board of Directors of Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI), called for strengthening bilateral trade, increasing the market share of Jordanian products in local markets, and reducing reliance on imports, given the presence of a "strong" industrial sector and "distinguished" Jordanian industries characterized by high quality.

Ayman Alawneh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alawneh Exchange, noted the importance of exploring avenues for cooperation and partnerships that serve mutual interests and support economic development.

He noted that the financial sector is a "fundamental and vital partner" in any desired economic development.

Ahmed Al-Ahmad, CEO of Istiklal Hospital, affirmed the hospital's participation in the meeting was based on its commitment to enhancing its "strategic" partnerships with the business sector and promoting its "comprehensive" healthcare services.

During the meeting, Istiklal Hospital, the forum, and the East Amman Industrial Investors Association signed cooperation agreements, aimed to provide special healthcare benefits and services to the two sides' members and bolster joint cooperation.

Established in 2011 as non-profit organization, the forum seeks to enhance cooperation between Jordanian and Palestinian business owners to serve their interests and develop the investment environment.
