Amman, May 7 (Petra) -- The Jordanian-Georgian Parliamentary Friendship Association, chaired by MP Hussein Amoush, met Thursday with Georgian Ambassador Archil Dzuliashvili to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields, particularly parliamentary, tourism, and cultural ties.

Amoush stressed the strength of relations between Jordan and Georgia, calling for broader cooperation and efforts to address challenges facing Jordanians residing in Georgia and Jordanian students studying there, in addition to enhancing cultural exchange between the two sides.

Association members, MPs Huda Naffa, Jihad Abawi, Hayel Ayyash, and Ahmad Alimat, pointed to Georgia’s significant progress in various fields, stressing the importance of sharing Jordan’s parliamentary experience with the Georgian side.

They also called for establishing a direct air route between Jordan and Georgia through national carrier Royal Jordanian, saying the step would help boost tourism and trade activity and facilitate travel for students and citizens between the two countries.

The Georgian ambassador emphasized the depth and strength of Jordanian-Georgian relations across various fields, stressing the importance of enhancing economic and trade cooperation, as well as religious tourism between the two countries.

He noted that about 2,500 Jordanian students are studying in Georgia, commending their positive reputation.
