Amman, Feb. 16 (Petra) -- The Lower House of Parliament’s Health and Food Committee on Monday discussed avenues for institutional cooperation and technical exchange with a delegation from the Jordan Medical Association in Germany, in a bid to advance the Kingdom’s healthcare sector and enhance service quality.

Committee Chair MP Ahmed Sarhaneh said the meeting focused on strengthening professional linkages with Jordanian medical experts abroad and leveraging their specialized competencies and clinical experience to support national health priorities. He said the committee is keen to back initiatives that reinforce health and food security frameworks and to maintain coordination that serves the public interest.

Committee members Abdul Hadi Buraizat, Shaher Shatnawi, Hakam Maadat, Amal Shaqran, Hayel Ayash and Omar Khaldi said Jordanian professionals working overseas represent a strategic asset to the national healthcare system. They said the expertise of physicians practicing in Germany constitutes a qualitative addition to medical services in the Kingdom and contributes to elevating standards of care.

The lawmakers also pointed to the association’s role in mentoring newly graduated physicians and guiding them toward medical specialties aligned with Jordan’s workforce needs.

For its part, the delegation reviewed the association’s key programs and activities aimed at consolidating professional networks between Jordanian doctors in Germany and their homeland. These include organizing scientific conferences, specialized workshops and continuing medical education initiatives, as well as facilitating knowledge transfer in advanced treatment modalities, medical training and digital health applications to enhance healthcare system performance.
