Amman, March 16 (Petra) – The Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee expressed its pride in the heroism and pivotal role of the Jordan Armed Forces – the Arab Army (JAF) in defending the Kingdom and safeguarding its stability.

In a press release on Monday, the committee commended the efficiency and vigilance of the country's defenders in dealing with external threats, reiterating that Jordan's security and sovereignty are a red line, and that the Kingdom will remain resilient, thanks to its Hashemite leadership and the professionalism and strength of its army.

The committee said Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, consistently demonstrates it is up to the task in addressing regional challenges with wisdom and competence.

"The exceptional efforts by the brave soldiers of the Arab Army in protecting the Kingdom's skies and land instill reassurance in everyone, and reflect the high level of readiness of our military and security institutions amidst the delicate circumstances the region is passing through," said the statement.

The committee also reiterated its condemnation of Israeli occupation authorities' violations at the Al Aqsa Mosque and barring worshippers from the holy site.

It warned against the consequences of the provocative measures, which aim to alter the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem, and called on international parliaments to take immediate action to halt such practices that undermine prospects for peace.

Furthermore, the committee said it is following up with the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs on the conditions of Jordanians abroad, stressing a commitment to coordination to ensure their safety and offer all all possible assistance.
