PDTRA Continues Petra's Green Belt, Roadside Beautification Project

Petra, Jan. 4 (Petra) - Chief Commissioner of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) Fares Braizat said work is continuing on the "Green Belt and Roadside Beautification" project in Petra District, citing its importance in enhancing vegetation cover and improving the general landscape in line with the area’s environmental and aesthetic objectives.
Braizat noted that the project represents a key pillar in environmental preservation and in strengthening the district’s aesthetic and tourism assets, stressing the need for continued coordination and integration among the agriculture and environment directorates and relevant stakeholders to ensure the project is implemented on a sound, sustainable scientific basis.
During a meeting on Sunday with members of the Board of Commissioners, Director of the Petra Agriculture Directorate Saleh Majali, Director of the Petra Environment Directorate Issa Hassanat, and Acting Director of the Agricultural Resources Development Directorate at PDTRA Salem Shamasin, Braizat reviewed progress achieved under the project to date and discussed ways to activate work during the next phase.
He underscored the importance of ongoing consultation among all concerned parties to ensure the project meets its intended goals, in line with PDTRA’s vision to protect the environment and enhance Petra’s standing as a leading tourism destination.
