Amman, April 13 (Petra) -- Pearson Assessments announced the opening of a new professional testing center in Amman in the Jordanian Nursing Council building to serve candidates from Jordan and across the Middle East, reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a regional hub for international professional accreditation in healthcare and related fields.

The new center will offer up to 7,200 exams annually, covering professional certifications and international licensing tests across key sectors, within a secure, technology-enabled testing environment that ensures exam integrity and a high-quality candidate experience.

Pearson will administer the international licensing exam for registered nurses on behalf of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing in the United States, marking a first-of-its-kind initiative in the region. It aims to improve access for nursing professionals and support global efforts to address shortages in qualified nursing staff.

The center will also offer a range of high-demand international exams in fields including information technology, project management, and graduate business admissions, in addition to UK nursing and midwifery tests, further strengthening Jordan’s role as a regional platform for professional certification.

Laura Peterson, Managing Director of Pearson Professional Assessments, said the launch in Amman represents a significant expansion of the company’s global testing network, enabling more candidates to obtain certifications and licenses that advance their careers and meet growing demand for skills locally and internationally.

Secretary-General of the Nursing council, Hani Nawafleh, said Jordan was selected to host the center due to its security, stability, advanced regulatory environment, and strategic regional location, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, which has positioned the Kingdom as a regional hub for education and capacity building.

The initiative reflects the vision and continued efforts of Her Highness Princess Muna Al-Hussein, president of the council, in advancing the nursing profession and strengthening Jordan’s standing in international accreditation and testing.

Nawafleh noted the center could also drive a new niche in "exam tourism," attracting candidates from across the region to take professional tests in Amman, supporting the knowledge economy and reinforcing Jordan’s role as a regional hub for certification, continuous education, and international accreditation.
